The challenge
Bloom was the kind of shop locals loved and nobody else had heard of. No logo beyond a word in a default font, no consistent colors, product photos taken under fluorescent light, and no way to buy online at all. When the pandemic-era plant boom hit their city, the growth went to competitors with weaker products and stronger brands — a pattern the owner could see happening in real time.
What we did
We started with identity: a warm, botanical brand system — logo, palette, typography, and a voice guide that made every caption sound like the founder on her best day. Then we built an e-commerce site around that identity, with photography guidelines the team could follow on a phone. Finally we turned their Instagram into the brand's front window: care guides, new-arrival drops, and customer plant photos, posted on a consistent rhythm with a bio-to-checkout funnel.
The results
Online revenue rose 312% year over year, and two-thirds of online buyers were brand-new customers rather than existing regulars moving online. Instagram engagement quadrupled, and the shop's branded packaging now shows up organically in customer posts — the kind of free marketing only a real brand earns. Bloom has since opened a second location.
